Vera Kywa, or Veada Kieva, her birth name, is a full time professional dance instructor, studio owner, promoter, and DJ with nearly 24 years of teaching experience and continued personal training. Vera was born in Lorain Ohio to parents who immigrated from Ukraine shortly after they arrived in the United States. She was raised in a Ukrainian community and Ukrainian is her first language. Dance has always been a part of Vera's life - dancing Tango, Waltz, Rumba, Cha Cha and Polka as well as her ethnic Ukrainian dance as she grew up.

Vera is the previous owner of the Toledo Ohio Fred Astaire Franchise. Her background is in teaching and training dance professionals for teaching and for competition. Although she was unable to pursue a course as a competitor herself, her professional couples and dance teams have won numerous championships and she herself has achieved the Mix and Match dance champion title for the Mid West Region. She trained extensively with the late Dagmar Jarvel. Dagmar Jarvel was one of the foremost trainers in the United States and instrumental in establishing the dance curriculums currently used by most Franchise as well as independent dance studios.

With Certifications in both the American and the International Standard of dance, she is one of the most qualified instructors in the York County area to provide expert instruction in nearly any form of partnership dancing. Her expertise was developed through continued training, her passion for her profession, as well as her love of dance. These qualities have made her one of the top professional's with a special talent for creating easy, fun filled, learning experiences.

In addition to the standard Ballroom Dances, Vera also teaches Club Style Salsa, Merengue, Hustle, Night Club Foxtrot, and the Argentine Tango. Her forte is in her ability to make participants in her lessons, classes, and workshops feel comfortable, learn quickly, and feel great about what they learned. Vera works with beginners as well as professional dance instructors assisting in development of dance at every level. As a dance "technician", she is an expert at understanding and teaching the methods of movement required for excellence. Vera provides dance and learning opportunities by sponsoring her own dance events as well as by inviting master instructors from out of the area to teach workshop with her - enabling the isolated town of York, PA to stay abreast of the dance scene.

As a studio owner and skilled instructor, Vera Kywa is known throughout the United States. Being a parent of two teenagers and a home owner, Vera does not travel much out of the area to teach or provide workshops and consequently, does not maintain a large Instructor profile. Vera publishes a weekly news letter called the 2Dancin in York, PA with Vera Kywa as an update to inform dancers of her events as well as other local events and writes a column on singles, partners, and Dance in Singles Scene Magazine. Currently, her focus is on the area dance community but she warmly invites those from out of the area to join her in her Love of Dance
